About the Business
The client sell ink cartridges, fax cartridges, laser toner etc. through this website. His business was established in UK and he use to target local audience through his website (UK data center). The website was an E-commerce website, built in Actinic and had an full-fledge shopping cart.
The Challenge
The challenge was far above the ground because of the following reasons: The client didn’t want to handover the FTP details. He insisted to complete on-page work at his end. Therefore the team used to send him all changes and in this manner was dependent on him to carry on page-optimization. Second, the website had a mirror website www.inkandmedialtd.com, and the client didn’t want to bring down the mirror website. Existence of a mirror website is not advisable from search engine’s view point, but the team had to promote the existing website without removing the mirror website.
The Response
The team started putting their best efforts to promote the website in search engines targeting especially the UK data center. Since the client didn’t want to bring down the mirror website, the team convinces the client to do some changes on the original website so that the two websites do not be mirror any more. The team made various changes in navigation, and home page of the website with the help of the client to enhance the website’s reputation in search engines. Besides on-page, they performed regular off-page practices to provide a support to the ranking of the website in search engines.
The Result
The efforts put in by the team started showing results within three months, when the website improved its position and come up within top search engine result pages. Further the ranking of the website improved with the time and the website also ranked among top 5 results with some of its major keywords.
