New Look for Gmail and Google Calendar- Gmail and Google Calendar will have new look now. The idea behind the refreshed look is to make the interface more elastic, focused, and effortless. Preview of the new look is available in Gmail and Google Calendar.
View RAR and ZIP contents in Gmail attachments- No more do you need to download a ZIP or RAR to view it. Google now allows users to view the contents of RAR and ZIP in their browser without having to download and extract the files. This makes Gmail faster, easier and safer way of viewing attachments rather than opening files (that are potentially harmful) with software on your laptop or PC.
Multiple calling in Gmail- While Google has already added the ability to place phone calls to mobile phones and landlines using Gmail for free or for a diminutive calling rates. A couple of days back, Google enhanced this feature by allowing multiple calls simultaneously. By putting first call on hold, user can make as well as pick up another call.
Change your inbox style- Google has introduced new features to let users choose an inbox layout as per their email habits. The new features would allow users to decide between Priority Inbox, starred messages first, important messages first or unread messages first. They can use classic inbox style, if they prefer so.
Making Gmail safer than ever with phishing detection- By displaying more info about certain messages’ origin, Google makes Gmail safer. Emails that come from senders not added to your contact list will be displayed with the full email address of the sender. Gmail will also intimate you when a message comes from email-sending services, such as the article sharing system of a news site. A warning will be displayed when if the sender appears suspicious.
Read receipts for government and business customers- Google Apps for Government and Business administrators can now check if important sent email had been opened by the recipient or not by activating read receipts from the control panel. Admin can control which users would be able to return or request read receipts as well as whether receipts would be issued automatically or manually by the email recipients.
Five new mobile site templates- Google mobile site has also got an update with five new templates added thereby making it easier to create and launch sites that look highly impressive on small screen.
