The speakers from Twitter revealed that the microblogging website has crossed user base of 105 million and more than 300,000 users from around the world are joining Twitter everyday. With this ever increasing number of worldwide users, Twitter is sure to retain its top position amongst microblogging websites.
The announcements that followed included introduction to the Geolocation services that Twitter would soon begin to provide. It also plans to start its own URL shortening service to remove dependence on third party tools. Also, new applications were announced for Android OS, iPhone (application named as Tweetie) and research on Blackberry mobile phones.
