Google AdWords has introduced targeting options for its mobile ads. Now, advertisers can focus on specific mobile users rather than targeting all of them. These ads are displayed on iPhone and other smart mobile phones that support usage of Internet browsers.

Google now provides the facility to display mobile phone or carrier specific ads to the users of those devices or carriers only. The landing pages can also be customized appropriately based on the target customers.

This will result in less annoyance for the users of other devices and carriers and also improve the response to the advertisements due to more focused targeting.

Also, the option to download mobile applications will also be displayed only to the respective mobile phone. This will appear as a download option (rather than the complete URL) that will link to the downloading site.

Google has also improved the ads displayed on Gmail. In case of the absence of any relevant keywords in the mail that the reader chooses to read, rather than showing some irrelevant ads, Google’s new service would consider the last email read by the user and display ads related to the content of that email.
