Barcelona, 23 February 2010 – The Mobile World Congress 2010, a three-day event was held in Barcelona from 15 to 18 February 2010. Major mobile companies revealed their plans and showcased their latest products at the event.
HTC plans to release HTC Legend and Desire, two of its Android phones very soon. This launch is awaited by many mobile users who wish to buy the latest Android-based mobile phones. The phones would feature good looks with powerful functionalities.
Google did not come up with any new product at the congress. Instead, CEO - Eric Schmidt talked about the changes that Google has brought in the market mentioning Google Earth application and innovations like Google voice search. This was followed by a demonstration by Erick Tseng on Flash working with Android.
Microsoft announced the launch of a new version of Windows mobile called as ‘Windows Phone 7’ in December this year. Windows Phone 7 is more consumer-centric and is expected to give good competition to other popular smart phones.
The market for mobile applications has grown and so is the competition. The scope for mobile application development is also expanding leaving users with lot of choice.
