28 November, 2009, California - Google has come up with a fresh new user interface for its search page that is available for testing to a small group of users right now. We got hold of the screen shots of the new UI after following some tips that Gizmodo published last week.

The new Google search interface is not only more colorful, but also offers more options and thereby makes searching even more convenient and specific.

First change is the color of ‘Google Search’ and ‘I’m feeling lucky’ buttons on the Google page that has been changed from gray to blue.

A panel displayed on the left side of the search results, every time after a ‘search’ is made, makes the search function even more interesting. The options present in this panel come with unique ‘colored’ icon placed next to each other in a vertical alignment. This panel includes options like ‘news’, ‘blog’ etc., placed as top navigational links in the classic blue colored interface.

Other than these options, there are also additional options for filtering the search results. One can even choose to display results based on a specified ‘time’.

Search engines like Bing and Yahoo have also been experimenting on ways to present search results in a more organized way and Google’s launching is expected to speed up its counterparts to speedup their R&Ds.

Google will have the new search page tested for a few weeks before making it public for all its users.
