California, April 19, 2010 - David Pann, Vice President, Search Advertising, Yahoo Inc., recently revealed that Yahoo would soon be including more sponsored ads in its search results. Greater number of PPC ads would help the users of Yahoo search reach more relevant websites.
A new program named ‘More Sponsors’ has been rolled out that would increase the number of Ad impressions on PPC ads. Clicking on these ads would take the user to a fully sponsored ads page that would contain PPC ads relevant to the search query.
Users will also be suggested relevant terms while typing the search query with ‘Yahoo search assist’. At first, this feature will be added to ‘Yahoo Search’ only and will be associated with other pages where Yahoo displays PPC ads.
Though not yet fully launched, very soon advertisers will be able to publish ads on the sponsored pages. The bidding procedure and costing for these ads will be similar to the current process.
Yahoo promises to maintain the user friendliness of its search pages even after integration with Microsoft Bing.
