Blog Popularity and Blog Search Engines
The rapid popularity of weblogs as a popular method of portraying something is apparent from the fact that these are the most searched after items on the web…so much that today several blog search engines have evolved. Blogdigger, Feedster, and Technorati are examples of blog search engines that help web users search blog content.
A great way to increase the popularity of blogs in search engines is through citations and affiliations. Initially, weblogs do take some time to gain popularity, however, usage of blogrolls and permalinks are excellent methods of boosting the popularity of blogs more rapidly. Technorati has also gone a step forward by starting to rank weblogs based on the amount of incoming links, while Alexa relies on web hits to rank them.
According to recent survey conducted by Gartner, the popularity of weblogs will be the maximum in the year 2007, when the number of writers maintaining personal websites reaches or even surpasses 100 million. Hence, if you are planning to make a blog of your own, it is high time that you get it implemented. |
